Bluffing in Poker

Poker is a family of card games that are played worldwide. The rules of each variant vary, but all involve one or more rounds of betting and a set of cards being dealt to each player.

The best hand wins a pot, but not always!

Bluffing is a key part of poker, and a bluff can win a pot without showing your hand. Whether you are bluffing for fun or to win a lot of money, it is important that you play smart!

CHECK-RAISE: To waive the right to initiate a bet, but to retain the right to act if another player has initiated a bet. In limit poker, this can be done if the player has gone all-in with an amount that is less than half the required wager.

CAPPED: In limit poker, the maximum number of raises on the betting round has been reached. When this occurs, the player may call, fold, or complete the bet in an attempt to reopen the betting for other players who have already placed bets.

NEW PLAYERS: All new players must sign in to the WFP and print their Member ID# on the TOURNAMENT SIGN-IN sheet. Illegible names or ID numbers will not receive credit.

EXPOSED: Any card shown to another player by the dealer is considered exposed, even if the player did not intend it to be seen by others. This includes all cards dealt on the table, except for those that have been unintentionally exposed by the player, and the cards dealt off the table.
